What to expect
What should I expect before/during/after
a sound bath session?

BEFORE a session
- In order to keep the studio space clean, you will be asked to remove your shoes upon entering.
- During the session, you will be lying down on a soft mattress. To make the experience more comfortable, you may bring your own pillow(s), blanket(s), and sheet(s) if you desire. Otherwise, they will be provided.
- Please wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing.
- Our sense of smell is known to connect us to old memories. Please do not wear any perfume or cologne. Though the scent may be pleasant to you, it could be a trigger for some people sharing the same space with you. Thank you for your kindness and understanding.
- Since you’ll be lying down, avoid eating a heavy meal before the session, as your full stomach will not feel very comfortable lying down.

DURING a session
- You may set an intention for the session. For example, if you would like to address a painful issue, instead of saying “I don’t want any knee pain,” it’s better to say “I would like to hike with ease and joy.” Another example, if you’d like to improve your sleep quality, instead of saying “I don’t want any more insomnia,” it’s more beneficial to say “I’d like to fall asleep at night.”
- Your experience from session to session will most likely change with time. The best way to be in a sound bath is to be present without any expectations. Without trying to predict or expect what’s going to happen, especially based on your previous experience. The best attitude is to remain open and curious. And relax into whatever happens.
- We simply let ourselves rest in a space of sound, and gently let ourselves go into the sounds. The vibrational energy knows what your body needs at the moment. Trust the process. If your mind is busy and needs to say something, saying “Thank you” in your heart would be enough. 🙂

AFTER a session
- Everyone’s experience is different. If you’re in a group session, some people may want to share after a session, while some may not. Whatever your heart desires, it is always the right response.
- Stay well-hydrated. Please drink plenty of water after each session. Our body is made of 70% water. Sound energy vibrates on a cellular level in our bodies. Therefore, it’s important to drink lots of water after a sound session.
- It’s okay not to analyze your experience right away. Sometimes our minds are limited in interpreting or understanding.
- Find ways to ground yourself on a daily basis. Here are some recommendations:
- Spending alone time in nature
- Grounding (touching the Earth with bare skin, e.g. barefoot on grass or dirt)
- Resting in vibrational music (artist recommendation: Steve Halpern)
- Playing a musical instrument
- Humming, singing (alone or group: please inquire about our weekly group vocal harmonization sessions)
- Journaling
- Devoting time to a creative activity, e.g. drawing, cooking, baking, woodworking, or something that allows you to create.
- Breathe with your diaphragm (belly breathing) whenever you can remember.
- Be kind to yourself. You are enough. You are loved.
- Just be.
