Welcome to Sacred Sounds!

Hi, I’m Emily. I’m a certified mindfulness meditation instructor. I’m also a single mom of 2 teenage boys. My passion is connecting with people at a deeper level. Prior to this, I’ve been a foot/ankle physician practicing in Fort Collins, CO.

Recently, I found the magical power of sound. After witnessing the positive effects of those who experienced sound meditation, Sacred Sounds Studio became a dream come true.

This is a place where people can come and relax, or go deeper within themselves and connect to a place where everything is connected. This work is hard to explain, and often it’s hard to believe. I was a skeptic myself coming from a Western medical background.

Although recent science studies have provided ample evidence, I needed to see it for myself. After witnessing its beneficial effects on many people, it’s become clear to me that there is value in these “new” scientific discoveries backed by ancient wisdom.

The Universal Truth

The Truth of who we are is not confined by any religion.

Ram Dass says, “All spiritual teachings point to dissolving the illusion that we are separate.” We are never separate. Our human minds or egos like to think we are. Therefore, we mistakenly continue to seek outward for the solution. This delusion of separation is the root cause of our suffering.

Personal History

Emily was born into a traditional Buddhist family in Taiwan. Growing up, she witnessed divine miracles in her early life. After immigrating with her family to the U.S. at age 12, and later being baptized in a Christian church in her 20’s, her spiritual journey took a deeper dive through mindfulness meditation in the last 18 years.

With more than 2 decades of medical practice in podiatry and surgery and witnessing the importance of our mind-body connection in thousands of patient encounters, it became apparent to her that our Western treatment approach has its limitations. Her spiritual journey has widened her perspective on what healing should look like. Our Western approach is limited by focusing mainly on our physical symptoms and not including the “whole” person in the healing paradigm.

Furthermore, her end-of-life care experience and psychedelic-assisted therapy training have enriched her views on our shared human journey.

Her own experience of journeying made her realize the power of sound in healing. Sound bath meditation was the missing link in connecting people to what she has realized and is excited to share.

Why Sound Meditation?

Emily’s sensitivity to sound and experience in mindfulness meditation led her to explore sound bath meditation. The traditional way of sitting meditation in stillness can be difficult for most modern people with a busy mind.

In contrast, we don’t need to do anything except to rest and relax in a sound bath. The positive feedback she witnesses has validated what the recent scientific studies have confirmed. We simply cannot heal if we’re constantly battling within ourselves and with the world.

She hopes to help people restore their inner balance and cultivate a deeper connection with themselves and the Divine. When we have tasted the sweetness of the Divine, our only obligation is to share the sweetness. As R.D. says, “We are all walking each other Home.”
